Given a nearly perfect climate with warm temperatures and abundant sunshine, Hawai'i proved to be a great alternative to the (relatively) cold, dreary Atlanta winter. The fact that it also boasts pristine beaches, verdant rainforests, active volcanoes, awe-inspiring hikes, numerous waterfalls, and the largest sea cliffs in the world make it that much more desirable. Frank, an old work friend, and I spent about 10 days in Hawai'i, split evenly between the islands of O'ahu (where we visited our friend, Paul, living in Honolulu) and Kaua'i. All in all, we had an amazing trip filled with scenic drives, relaxing at the beach, some strenuous, yet rewarding, hiking and camping, a helicopter tour, getting to know the city of Honolulu, and meeting some great people while hitchhiking on Kaua'i.
